KD97 Dark Mofo Whisky Release

A very exciting development in the Killara Distillery journey sees the rum finish tradition of our Dark Mofo whisky releases flipped on its head.

The story is as follows. The rum barrel that provided the finish for our whisky last year had already been maturing another whisky for three years, and so we essentially did a cask swap: KD65, which had been sitting in the delicious PX cask for over four years went into the rum cask to finish before being released for Dark Mofo last year, and KD97, which had been maturing in the rum barrel, went into the PX cask. 

With all the sherry sweetness and syrupy smoothness, aromas of dried fruits, sultanas and vanilla, perfectly balanced with the added spice and complexity from the rum cask, this is not one to miss.

Essentially, the sister cask of our Dark Mofo release from last year, this is definitely a whisky you'll want to add to your collection and with your choice of either cask strength or the Distiller’s choice of ABV, there is a version to please every whisky lover.
